Description Our client is seeking a Systems Administrator, UNISYS Support (Mainframe Unit) for position in Tokyo.

Overall Role Purpose:

• A thorough understanding of MF components covering UNISYS OS2200, UNISYS DORADO, MVS, OS390, z/OS, JCL.
• Designs and develops integrated solutions through tools, processes, and procedures to facilitate the cost effective delivery of engineering services.
• Provides planning, analysis, development and implementation of system upgrades.
• Develops validation schemes and performs testing and integration and maintenance.
• Escalates problem resolution of computer environments, systems, subsystems, and components.
• Monitors, investigates, and resolves system operation issues in accordance with standard procedures; documents and communicates resolution.
• Analyzes potential system investments and prepares supporting documentation for recommendation(s) to management; Bases results on independent assessment of current and future performance, stability, and systems management/life cycle issues.
• Work with Vendor for incident/problem investigation
• Systems Disaster Recovery Preparation, Rehearsal, & Failover

Required Skills
• Good understanding of system architecture and the installation process for a large mainframe environment
• Monitoring the system performance
• Strong knowledge on application of Fixes/Patches
• Assists with system troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems.
• Analyzes, logs, tracks, and resolves hardware/software matters pertaining to networking, connectivity issues, printers, servers, and applications to meet business needs.
• Coordinate with various product lines of service units, to enhance communication among various functions and to improve efficiency
• Provides technical support and consultation on proposed and current systems.
• Coordinates with design groups to ensure correct implementation, and develops test plans for field validation by customers.
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Performs and evaluates cost analyses and vendor comparisons of software and hardware systems to ensure cost effective and efficient operations.
• Measures feasibility of various approaches and make recommendations.
• Overtime and weekend work occasionally required.
• Provide a 7x24 service on-call support.
• Ensures satisfaction through implementation of standards/policies needed to fulfill service level expectations.
