説明 Our client is seeking a Supply Chain Management - Team Member - Contract Specialist for position in Tokyo.

We have an opening for the Supply Chain Manager position.

This will be a position to start asap until mid November, may be extended.

This candidate needs to have a lot of commercial aspect and need to be well experienced in contract reading.

The candidate needs to have native Japanese and business level English.

The work location will be Tokyo office but may be expected to travel from time to time to support our client and our Data Center in Osaka.

Overall Role Purpose:

Manages the supply of materials, products/services, and equipment necessary for the operation of the assigned business area(s).

Reviews and approves quotations for materials, software, electronic components, and other products/services.

Manages supply chain strategies and relationships with suppliers.

Negotiates and manages supplier business plans; develops, coordinates, and aligns supplier strategies.

Establishes cost and quality processes and guidelines for suppliers.

Oversees operational controls to monitor performance and maximize return on investment.

Evaluates performance using standard scorecard metrics.

Communicates key information to executives, major stakeholders, service recipients, and supplier management.


Key Accountability and Responsibilities:

Technology:
Researches market surveys encompassing products, technologies, supplier capabilities, supplier pricing practices, and supplier quality methodologies and prepares analysis for executives. Approves additions to and deletions from the supplier database as appropriate.

People:
Assists managers in defining and clarifying specifications, negotiating specifications with suppliers, and developing sourcing strategies based on specifications. Works with managers to identify and resolve quality problems during system development phases.

Customer:
Works closely with suppliers to ensure strong business ties are maintained. Develops, implements, and monitors strategic business plans with suppliers.

Business: Coordinates the efforts of the purchasing department. Leads supply chain initiatives with emphasis on leveraging materials and services to reduce costs and inventory while maintaining effective service levels.

Financial: Assumes responsibility for reducing the cost of goods/services through effective negotiations and taking a unified approach with purchasing in meetings with suppliers.
Monitors the effect of currency exchange on the cost of raw materials and the potential purchase of materials from suppliers in other countries and/or for business unit locations.
Oversees the resolution of pricing or receipt issues with the accounts teams. Approves overall project plans, budgets, and schedules.
