The overwhelming majority of our clients are located in Tokyo, however in the future this position might require travel to other parts of Japan.
The candidate needs to have experience working with database systems (Oracle, MSSQL, DB2) and good database design skills.
The candidate should be capable of independently designing and building a data model as well as know how to optimize execution plans and write ETLs.
The candidate should be very comfortable with object oriented concepts (i.e. inheritance, overloading etc.).
Experience with Java is preferred but not a strict requirement.
The candidate should be capable of reading complicated, undocumented programming code and understand the purpose of that code.
Furthermore the candidate should be capable of designing and implementing a complicated module of an enterprise system without outside help and with minimal oversight.
The candidate should have experience working with different interface protocols (SOAP, MQ etc.) and should have reasonable understanding of XML.
The System Architects work directly with the client. The candidate needs to have professional demeanor, good people skills as well as very good communication skills (native in Japanese as well as very good English).
In addition this position can require significant amount of travel. Depending on client location system architects can spend up to 5 days per week at a client site for the duration of the project (1 year). All clients will be in Japan.
The ideal candidate is young, eager to learn, and very motivated.
The candidate is able to provide thought leadership at a client site and can take responsibility for achieving our objectives. In addition the candidate should have the tact and diplomatic skill to work with partners and clients and be a constructive force when competing interests arise.
We are focused on candidates that already possess some experience (5-7 years) and are very hands-on. In that sense candidates with too much experience are at a disadvantage.
We are planning to train the candidate in our technology and invest a lot of resources to shape our employees into seasoned professionals. As a result we strongly prefer candidates that can commit to stay with the company for an extended period of time.
