The Media Solutions Senior Program Director for JCOM reports to the Area Head of Operations. The role ensures program deliveries are fulfilled as per signed contract towards the customer in Japan. The role is accountable for end to end program ownership and performance towards the customer on agreed targets.
The role is responsible for capturing program net sales and margins based on contractual payment milestones and looks for opportunities for potential upside on sales and work with the sales team to realize it.
The Program Director will act as the single point of contact for the sales and executive team on all issues related to the project execution strategy and status.
The role is responsible for leading a team of project managers, external partners, customer vendors, R&D resources, senior solution architects, services resources, business analysts, and project professionals.
2 Key Responsibilities
" Strategize and outline goals and objectives of the program. Monitor projects through the entire program cycle. Set program controls/governance/standards.
" Own deliveries and end to end operational performance towards the Customer and Sales according to agreed targets. Set timelines for goal posts/due dates and manage the day-to-day detailed aspects of the program.
" Capture and manage program risks and communicate impact and mitigation strategy with internal stakeholders.
" Lead Executive Steering Meetings and communicate program objectives, goals, and progress to program directors, executives, upper management, and stakeholders. Review risks and share plans to execute on time, cost and quality. Highlight executive support as needed.
" Build strong partner relations with customer to support a smooth program execution
" Support sales teams and commercial teams on program/project discussions or negotiation as required
" Use global practices, methods and tools for successful project execution
" Drive and orchestrate early involvement from sales on add on sales opportunities
" Agree delivery setup with Business Lines (including relevant Support & Control Functions) as well as with Sourcing.
" Achieve agreed program net sales and margins business targets as well as customer satisfaction targets.
" Act as escalation point during project delivery phase.
" Secure quality in project financial forecast input towards the sales/account and business teams
" Support business lead generation activities towards the sales/account team where feasible.
" Secure close co-operation with Sales, Business Lines, and Sourcing.
" Build a services culture and ways of working characterized by proactive attitude, teamwork focus, strong performance ethics, high professionalism and high energy in the program. Lead by example.
" Drive continuous feedback into the Business Lines for improvement and support.
" Team leadership of Program Managers, Vendor Managers, Solution Architects, External Partners, Product Design Unit resources, business analysts and project professionals. Mentor project staff and team members
" Assist team members and project managers when needed to accomplish team goals
The Program Director is responsible for program planning, setup, execution, reporting, financials, customer project team relation and delivery to agreed targets.
The Program Directors secures program forecast for Cost Sales, Revenues, and margins of product and services towards the sales and the business lines teams.
Work closely with Service Lines for continuous improvements of services delivery to the customers.
" University degree in Business or Engineering / ICT.
" MBA Preferred
" PMP and Project Certification is a plus
" Bi-Lingual proficiency in English and Japanese
" Japan Residency
" 10-15 years of experience in operations/program management leadership positions within the Media and/or ICT industry
" Extensive experience in customer management, project/program delivery, pre-sales support, and service delivery
" Well proven ability to plan, setup, execute complex Media/SI programs and meet agreed program targets with the customer.
" Excellent program management skills and proven business financials skills
" Senior capability in managing and driving change in program to achieve goals
" Experience in forecasting and dimensioning of delivery capacity based on business needs
" Ability to attract, develop and retain competence
" Ability to lead multi-cultural and cross-functional teams, empowering and creating synergies
" Ability to manage relationships at the highest level within Media Solution unit as well as the customer organization. Strong driver of One Team.
