The Senior Sales Manager Japan will drive sales growth in a selected set of accounts (typically 2 of the largest Japanese financial institutions) partially by upselling around current solutions used by these accounts. Main focus will be selling new solutions to these accounts. You will be supported by local, regional and global resources (pre-sales, professional services teams, management, etc.).

 

Responsibilities

  • Defines strategy to grow business in accounts

    • Gets a strong understanding of accounts business and IT strategy

    • Defines a clear account plan

  • Establishes relationship at all levels including C-level in all relevant divisions in accounts

  • Solution Sales to accounts and managing sales opportunities throughout their lifecycle (from first call to closure)

    • Identifies and qualifies new opportunities

    • Identifies / builds the best solution to meet clients requirements

    • Develops and executes responses to queries from clients which may take the form of informal requests or more formal RFI/RFP documents

    • Set-up meetings efficiently to make best use of colleagues’ time and travel time

    • Organizes presentations and demonstrations of the solution being positioned

    • Negotiate commercial terms

    • Negotiates and closes new business contracts

  • Collaborates with different internal entities to execute plan at his/her accounts and win opportunities ( global Japan team, rest of APAC team, Global Business Units owning the solutions)

  • Reports activity

    • Maintains details of the account and of the sales pipeline using internal contacts and sales management system

 

Required Skills

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Fluent Japanese mandatory (native level or JLPT1 equivalent).

  • Strong business level English (written and verbal)

  • Strong verbal/presentation and written communication skills.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ solution selling experience

  • Previous work experience in financial software selling is advantageous.

  • Proven track record selling in Japan including multi-million dollars’ deals

  • In-depth knowledge of Japan financial markets is advantageous.

  • Strong ability to work in a multicultural environment and to collaborate with overseas colleagues
