Job Description

Our client is looking for a System Consultant / Support Engineer to help them design, integrate and support cutting-edge, state-of-the-art solutions for their fast-growing client base. In this role, you will become the key technical person for Japan, ensuring the highest levels of quality in design, performance and efficiency to all customers and prospects.


  • Design systems and assist customers, system integrators and Riedel sales staff with system designs (select appropriate devices out of the Riedel portfolio, recognize non out-of-the box application and find alternatives), combining technical and commercial aspects
  • Generate localized technical documentation (manuals, help notes, diagrams)
  • Take ownership of customer issues reported and see problems through to resolution
  • Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams
  • Ensure proper recording and closure of all issues
  • Configuration of systems and demo equipment incl. commissioning, programming, updates of soft- and firmware, managing the demo stock
  • Planning, coordination and delivery of on-site service, demo and training to customers across Japan Telephone, email, remote and on-site support of Riedel customers within Japan.
  • Attend trade shows and private events, performing in depth, product demonstrations
  • Occasional support of the broader technical team at large events or for major projects
  • Taking ownership of technical issues, and working with our Development group to resolve more advanced issues when necessary
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks

Required Skills

  • Has university degree, knowledge in in electrical engineering, communications- or audio-engineering a plus
  • Japanese (native level) a must, business English proficiency or above a must
  • Able to perform well under pressure
  • Excellent trouble-shooting skills
  • Proven service/support experience in a relevant market field, ideally in the (outside-) broadcast and entertainment market
  • Ability to work independently in a small office environment
  • Knowledge of communication, audio and video technology as well as IT-based systems
  • Excellent communication- and teamwork skills, including the ability to develop and sustain productive relationships, both internally and externally
